Grain elevators, schools, law enforcement, calving barns.
Crossroads Tech Services designs, installs, and maintains the systems those places run on — hazard monitoring, camera systems, access control, and the networks that hold it all together. Based in Sidney, Nebraska. Working across Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado.
Everything the building needs, from one crew.
We're the IT and systems arm of a working grain cooperative. Everything we install for customers, we run on our own facilities first.
Hazard monitoring
Complete hazard monitoring for grain handling — new installations, service and troubleshooting on existing systems, and second-opinion reviews when a quote doesn't add up. We phase work around harvest, because we have to do the same thing ourselves.
- Bearing temperature, rub blocks, speed and alignment sensors
- Plug detection and bin level monitoring
- PLC integration and network connectivity to the systems your people already watch
- Retrofits on older legs and towers
- Insurance and compliance recommendation response
- Quarterly, semi-annual, and annual testing agreements
Security camera systems
IP camera systems sized to the site and built to still work in five years. We've put cameras in schools, law enforcement facilities, elevators, and cattle barns — each of which asks something different of the equipment.
- Site walk, camera placement, and coverage planning
- NVR sizing, retention, and recording strategy
- Secure remote viewing without opening your firewall
- Retrofits and takeovers of systems someone else installed
- Outdoor, cold-weather, and high-dust environments
Vehicle and fleet cameras
Mobile camera systems for school buses, semi tractors, and grain trucks — side cameras covering both blind spots, forward-facing road view, and a mobile recorder built for a vehicle instead of an office. When something happens on the road, the footage is the difference between a claim you fight and a claim you close.
- Both-side blind spot and forward road-facing cameras on semi tractors
- Mobile DVR installation, wiring, and power management
- School bus interior, stepwell, and road-facing systems
- Footage retrieval for incident review and insurance claims
- Fleet-wide testing before the school year and ahead of harvest hauling
- Service and replacement on systems already in your trucks
Alarm systems and monitoring
Monitored burglar and fire alarm systems built on Alarm.com, so the cameras, alarm, and door access all live in one app instead of three. Arm the shop from the pickup, get a text when a door opens after hours, and know the moment the heat drops in a building nobody's standing in.
- Burglar and fire alarm design, installation, and takeover of existing panels
- 24/7 professional monitoring
- One app for alarm, cameras, and door access
- Temperature, water, and power-loss sensors for barns, shops, and unmanned buildings
- Remote arm and disarm, user codes, and open/close reporting
Access control
Card and fob entry systems for buildings where it matters who came through the door and when. Installed in schools, county attorney offices, courtrooms, day care facilities, and manufacturing plants.
- Door hardware, readers, controllers, and wiring
- Credential management and scheduled access by group
- Lockdown and emergency configurations
- Entry logging and reporting
- Integration with existing camera systems
Managed IT and support
Ongoing IT management for businesses too small to keep someone on staff, plus one-off help for individuals. Monitoring and patching so problems get caught before you notice them.
- Remote monitoring, patching, and endpoint management
- Backup and recovery you can actually restore from
- Email security, multi-factor authentication, and user training
- Server, workstation, and printer support
- Help desk and on-site service
Networking and site connectivity
Getting reliable network to places the fiber map forgot. We connect remote elevators, shops, and outbuildings across open country, and we do it on our own thirteen sites every day.
- Point-to-point wireless backhaul between remote sites
- Firewall, VLAN segmentation, and secure VPN tunnels
- Wi-Fi design for offices, shops, and scale houses
- Structured cabling and network closet cleanup
- Scale house and kiosk systems
Everything gets checked before the season it can't fail in.
A system that passed inspection eighteen months ago tells you nothing about today. Sensors drift, dust builds up, wiring works loose, cameras fog over. So we schedule the checks around the weeks that actually matter to you — not around a calendar year that means nothing to a feedlot or a school district.
Before harvest
Full hazard monitoring verification while there's still time to fix what we find. Every sensor tested, every shutdown path confirmed, before the first truck lines up.
Before calving
Barn cameras, night visibility, and remote viewing checked and adjusted ahead of calving season, so the 3 a.m. check happens from the house instead of the pickup.
Before the school year
Bus camera systems tested route by route, plus building cameras, access control, and door hardware, before the first day back.
Pre-harvest verification
Baseline coverage. Timed ahead of harvest, when a shutdown costs the most.
- Every sensor function-tested to alarm
- Shutdown and interlock paths confirmed end to end
- Setpoints verified against spec
- Mounting, conduit, and terminations inspected
- Written report with findings and photos
Pre- and post-harvest
For facilities that run hard. Catches what harvest broke before it sits all winter.
- Everything in the annual plan, twice a year
- Sensor cleaning and dust removal
- Backup power and battery testing
- PLC and network communication check
- Priority scheduling for service calls
High-throughput and mandated
Where the carrier requires it, or the facility can't afford a surprise.
- Everything in the semi-annual plan, quarterly
- Trend review on temperature and alignment data
- Failed and drifting sensors replaced on schedule
- Same-season response commitment
- Annual summary for your carrier or auditor
A document you can hand to your insurer.
Every visit ends with a written report: what was tested, what passed, what failed, what we replaced, and what we recommend. Dated, signed, and filed so you're not reconstructing it from memory when someone asks.
Most operators install hazard monitoring because a carrier or an inspector told them to. The install answers the question once. The testing record is what answers it every year after.
We'll also service and test systems we didn't install — including ones the original contractor no longer supports.
Where we've worked.
Every building on this list has different problems. A liquor store and a calving barn do not want the same camera. Knowing the difference is most of the job.
And more. If your building isn't on the list, ask — it probably should be.
We're not a call center in another state.
Crossroads Tech Services is the technology arm of Crossroads Cooperative Association, a grain cooperative operating across the Nebraska panhandle, eastern Wyoming, and northeast Colorado. We built and run our own thirteen-site network, our own hazard monitoring, our own cameras, and our own scale systems.
That means when you call about a leg that shut down at 2 a.m. during harvest, you're talking to people who have had the same night. We know what a facility can afford to have offline and what it can't.
We also write the software our own operation runs on — moisture and crop monitoring, spray application recordkeeping, scale house systems, and an employee portal. Most of what we install, we've had to make work for ourselves first.
Tell us what the building needs to do.
Quotes, second opinions, or a walk-through — call or email and we'll get you a straight answer on scope, cost, and timeline.
